Travel by bus from Jerusalem to Cairo via Taba and mid-Sinai (the Darb el-Hajj pilgrim route), crossing the Suez Canal at Suez. Overnight in Cairo.

Sunday, Dec 5
|
|
Full day field study to Memphis, Sakkara, Djoser's pyramid complex, the pyramid of Titi, the tombs of Mereruka and Ptah-hotep, the Giza pyramids, solar boat museum, sphinx and Chephren's valley temple. Overnight in Cairo.

Monday, Dec 6
|
|
Full day field study to Tell el-Yehudia in Delta (the land of Goshen), the Egypt Museum, the Citadel and Mohammed Ali Mosque and Old Cairo. Overnight sleeper train (sleeping berths) to Aswan.

Tuesday Dec 7
|
|
Full day field study to the High Dam, unfinished obelisk and granite quarry, and Philae Temple, a fellucca excursion to Elephantine Island, Nubian Village, and camel ride to St. Simeon monastery. Overnight in Aswan.

Wednesday Dec 8
|
|
Full day field study to the temples of Kom Ombo, Edfu and Karnak with a nighttime visit to the Luxor temple. Over night in Luxor.

Thursday Dec 9
|
|
Full day field study to the Luxor's West Bank (the Colossae of Memnon, the Valley of the Kings, Deir el-Bahri, Medinet Habu, Deir el-Medina, and the Ramesseum). Over night sleeper train (sleeping berths) back to Cairo.

Friday Dec 10
|
|
Full day field study in the western Sinai, including Moses' Spring (Elim) and jeep rides to the turquoise mines of Serabit el-Khadim. Overnight at Mt. Sinai.

|
|
Saturday Dec 11
|
|
Climb Mt. Sinai before sunrise and visit St. Catharine's monastery. Return to Taba / Eilat, then Jerusalem.
